The project investigates works inspired by ‘ordinary’ (Robinson, 2006) South African cities like Makhanda and Pretoria/Tshwane and prosaic aspects of daily life in larger metropolitan areas such as Cape Town. My contribution will be at least two short research films, one made primarily with archive footage and another shot on locations in South Africa. I’m planning filming in Cape Town and also in Worcester, which I intend to twin with footage of Worcester, England and Worcester, Massachusetts.
