Overdue, but here are some snaps from our Prague visit. More will follow.
This looks almost as if it’s not a photograph at all. Something about the light and the colours makes it look more like the work of a graphic artist.
This stairwell reminded me of Vertigo in a way. Everything reminds me of Vertigo. I especially liked the futuristic elevator structure in the middle, which I found Gilliamesque.
The TV tower, in the Vinohrady district is regarded by some as an eyesore, others as a symbol of Czech modernity and others as a communist hangover. It’s all three, and I think I quite like it.
Courtney snapped this in a market in the old town. Good eye, Court.
After dinner in an expensive restaurant named Pravda, Rhianon drank too much wine. It’s a case of in veritas vino, rather than in vino veritas.

Excellent pics! I do like the one taken from above, where the buildings look like dolls’ houses, and Courtney’s string puppets :)
It looks a fascinating place.
So, will I be seeing you guys this Saturday in Bristol? I’m game if you are!

Reading your notes under each picture I was ammused when you said “This stairwell reminded me of Vertigo in a way”. Because I immediately thought, yeah Liam, everything reminds you of Vertigo. I laughed a lot when you acknowledged this very fact immediatly afterwards. And that TV tower is possibly one of the ugliest things I’ve ever seen. It looks like something that might have been made on Blue Peter from toilet roles and egg boxes. Just yesterday I received a post card from my sister on her way through Prague. I’m jealous of you all.

The tv tower looks like something from one of the later Gerry Anderson shows, possibly UFO.
And that picture of the puppets is the most terrifying thing I’ve seen in a long time. Please send me a larger copy so that I can make it into a Desktop Of Fear.
